Hmmm...(I don't like this summary box)
It was really hard to feel for south park characters, and in the end I never did. Maybe if the characters looked original so that I didn't have this constant subconscious expectation of humor that has been planted in my brain by South Park. It also may have helped to have had characters that weren't so deformed looking. Also, you don't really get to know either of the characters all that in depth so it's hard to feel for them anyway. You don't fall in love with the characters first, so it doesn't matter much to watch them suffer.
I also felt that it didn't seem very realistic. The little fight scenes throughout the series were slow and lack-luster. In the first fight in probably the first episode, what appeared to be light taps resulted in the kid bleeding alot. People that would probably not normally get together (An emo kid and a girl that seemed to be projected to be beautiful and popular) It just seemed to be kind of lacking in reality.
On the plus side, though I didn't like anything about the fact that it looked like south park, honestly speaking, you did really well at making it look like south park. I would imagine you're capable of some excellent work, so I'd like to see something with original character design and everything like that. After all, what if something you made got really popular, like Happy Tree Friends. If it got popular enough to where you wanted to distribute it, you wouldn't be able to because everything about your style is the same as South Park's. I would advise you to strive for originality in everything you do, in the end, I think it makes you feel better about what you've done.
Hoooman, what is wrong with me.
I watched Tankmen and Tankmen 1.5 and laughed. I watched this one and my laughter lasted for quite some time. I think this proves me lack of intelligence or something. I don't care, it was funny. Thank you for putting some laughter in this slow apathetic meandering trudge through endless seas of garbage here in the NG portal.
Nicely done!
The first thing that came to mind when the credits began to role was "Nicely done!" In fact, I said it out loud. I kept waiting to be let down through out the entire animation, but you did not fail me. That was the best telling of the story that I have heard as of yet, and I've always been partial to this story.
Thank you for this work. I would love to see more. As soon as I submit this message, I'm going to see what else you've got in your arsenal.
I keep trying to think of another story to request of you but you already did the only one I'd specifically ask for.
/yawn
20 years ago if I had seen this I would have laughed. After 800 of these a day, it's not funny or even annoying anymore. Why don't you try something new. There are other ways to be funny and or annoying. This just isn't working anymore. It's too over-done. I can't even give you bonus points for trying.
Come-on. Try harder. Make me laugh. Make me angry. This is boring.
Madness?
While there is good in this animation, it is largely overshadowed by one big thing, in my opinion. Lack of originality is entirely the problem. When I watched this, the only thing that came to mind was that I was watching a lower quality version (though faster and smoother running) version of Krinkel's Madness series. Most of the aspects of this animation were, for the most part, the same. Perhaps it is some crazy coincedence, but more likely it is intentional. Either way, you need to take a more original route. Come up with your own characters and your own style. I'm not real sure why everybody wants to make random constant fight scenes anyway. It's been done to death.
I would advize coming up with a story. An original story. With original characters. Something new. You can keep your action scenes if you like, but lessen it a bit. Believe it or not, it's not all that entertaining to see 800 hours of pointless action from as many random flash videos. If you want to go anywhere with whatever skill you have or may gain, you need to provide something new and interesting.
As for the positives, you seem to have a decent amount of artistic skill comparatively speaking, and your animating skills seem decent as well. Keep working at it and I'm sure eventually you will get somewhere with it. Though, only with original ideas.
Good luck to you, sir or madam.
Very very nice.
I'm still pretty shaken about the death of Dime, so if this seems to not be as upbeat as you'd expect, that's why...
It was very well done. I'm honored to have been in it, the special thanks in the end was more than I expected, hell, being in it at all was more than I expected.
You've not been with the locks for that long and you've already got an animation on newgrounds. It's even above 3.2 which is really good, especially for us locks. After a year, I have yet to complete a large animation. I guess I just don't have the motivation. My next animation will most likely be a Dimebag tribute...
Anyway sorry for getting off topic there...This was a very well done animation and I hope to see more from you.
I lack the necessary motivation to complete full animations. Anything I don't deem spectacular gets tossed. Deal with it.
